Places To Stay
For anyone staying for a bit before or after the wedding, we’ve put together a list of areas we’d recommend for accommodation (if you haven’t already booked). Options range from spots close to the city to places further up the coast, depending on how long you have and how far you want to venture!

Green Point
Cape Town
Green Point is the perfect place to stay if you want to be central without being right in the middle of the chaos and noise. The Main Road runs right through the neighbourhood and is packed with cafés, bars and restaurants, making it easy to wander out for breakfast, drinks or dinner on a whim. You’re also a short walk from the V&A Waterfront and the promenade, which makes it a vibrant, lively base with lots to do right on your doorstep.
Sea Point
Cape Town
Sea Point is a great option if you want to be by the ocean and close to the city. The promenade runs right along the water and is perfect for a morning walk or jog, with views out over the Atlantic. The tidal pools are a local favourite for a swim, and there’s no shortage of good cafés and restaurants nearby. It's also the ultimate spot for golden sunsets!

Camps Bay
Cape Town
A little more expensive, a lot more boujee. Set beneath the Twelve Apostles with the ocean right in front of you, Camps Bay feels like a proper beach holiday location. The beach front is lined with vibey restaurants and bars, and there's a never ending buzz at all times of the day. If you’re after somewhere scenic and social, Camps Bay delivers every time.
Gardens
Cape Town
Gardens is a great option if you want to be close to the city without feeling stuck in the middle of it. Sitting at the foot of Table Mountain, it has a quieter, greener feel than the CBD, with Kloof Street just around the corner for cafés, bars and independent shops. It’s central, easy to get around, and feels lived-in rather than hectic.

Stellenbosch
Winelands
This gorgeous little town in the heart of the Winelands is one of our favourite places! It’s full of character, with oak-lined streets, historic buildings and some of the best wine farms in the country just a short drive away. The town centre has an abundance of great restaurants, cafés and wine bars, alongside a fantastic local arts and culture scene. It's always bustling, but is also the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a relaxed escape that feeds the soul.
We suggest that people stay here for a few days leading up to the wedding, as it's situated between Franschhoek (where the wedding venue and wine tram are) and Somerset West (which is where we're based when we're out here.)
Hermanus
East Coast
Hermanus is well worth the trip if you’re keen for fresh sea air and time outdoors. Take the coastal road for unbelievable sea views and natural beauty. The town itself is small, relaxed and easy to explore, with good cafés and restaurants dotted around. Set between the mountains and the ocean, it’s a great place to slow the pace for a day or two.

Paternoster
West Coast
Paternoster is a special little spot if you’re keen to explore the quieter, more traditional side of the West Coast. It's a small fishing village with whitewashed cottages, long, pristine beaches and a very chilled pace. It’s well-known for excellent, fresh seafood and beautiful sunsets, and suits anyone looking for somewhere calm and low-key.
